Somatic trauma therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on the connection between your mind and body. It works with your symptoms that living through trauma has left behind. Trauma is relived in the body everyday, this reliving is known as a trigger. Your triggers can be the cause of your Anxiety, Panic attacks and more.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, somatic therapy emphasises on the physical sensations and feelings in your body as a way to help you process and heal. In a session I help you create trust by guiding you to sit with your own emotions and feelings, this leads to processing them.

I am a Certified Somatic Trauma Therapist and Holistic Massage Therapist with Level 4 in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. I am is skilled to support you through your triggers and close the stress cycle your body-mind is caught in. Bringing your nervous system gently into the present.

It almost sounds too simple, but by connecting your physical experiences with sensations, you can work through these emotions and begin to move on and heal. This approach helps you feel more grounded, regain a sense of control, and reconnect with your body, ultimately guiding you toward greater well-being and peace.

Somatic Therapy can also enrich your life and improve ;

Body Awareness: Clients are guided to become more aware of their bodily sensations and movements. This awareness helps them understand how trauma is experienced through the body.

Body-MInd Connection: The therapy aims to integrate the mind and body, recognising that traumatic experiences affect both. This holistic approach helps in addressing the psychological and physiological aspects of trauma and day to day emotions. Body-Mind in conversation not conflict.

What can a session involve?

Every Somatic Trauma Therapy session is different because everyone experiences and processes trauma in their own way. Some sessions might involve intentional talking, gentle movement or working with objects, while others could include expressive tools like drawing. Sessions can involve hands on or hands off Somatic techniques depending how your symptoms of trauma are presenting. The goal is always to support your body’s natural way of processing and integrating experiences in a way that feels safe for you. I never take you to a place of “too much” the work is about gently easing your body into understanding that the trauma is in the past, not the present.

Link to studies for further reading on Somatic Therapy. Please not these studies are done under the lens of western medical science. I would just like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Somatic Healing is an ancient practice and has been used by many indiginous communities all over the world for thousands of years. I refer to the westernised Somatics as Modern Somatics to acknowledge this. Somatic healing is naturally a part of us all.

A bit about your therapist…

I am a Certified Somatic Therapist in Sydney | Gadigal. I have been in the world of Somatics for 9 years. I was educated at the ‘Holistic school of Therapy’ in Edinburgh.

I bring an unique and personal experience to my therapy sessions as a Queer and Nuerodierse Therapist. As much as I treat everybody as their own person, I am aware of the political climate in which our bodies live and how it has an effect on our experiences. One of my main goals is to know how you experience the world and build the sessions around that. Deeply personal to your lived truth. I continue to expand my practice by holding community workshops, reconnecting to nature and each other as humans is at the forefront of her practice.

Beyond this, I have embarked on a decolonial shadow work course by Dr. Rosales Meza for self learning and continues as a student in the decolonial movement, to unlearn is a life long journey.

What started as personal development through Holistic Massage and Somatic Trauma Therapy training turned into something bigger. I built a thriving clientele while working from her own queer-owned creative space in Edinburgh providing Somatic Sessions, workshops and community focused talks before making the decision to move to Australia in August 2025.
